Sorcery Of Thorns Synopsis
All sorcerers are evil. Elisabeth has known that as long as she has known anything. Raised as a foundling in one of Austermeer’s Great Libraries, Elisabeth has grown up among the tools of sorcery—magical grimoires that whisper on shelves and rattle beneath iron chains. If provoked, they transform into grotesque monsters of ink and leather. She hopes to become a warden, charged with protecting the kingdom from their power.
Then an act of sabotage releases the library’s most dangerous grimoire. Elisabeth’s desperate intervention implicates her in the crime, and she is torn from her home to face justice in the capital. With no one to turn to but her sworn enemy, the sorcerer Nathaniel Thorn, and his mysterious demonic servant, she finds herself entangled in a centuries-old conspiracy. Not only could the Great Libraries go up in flames, but the world along with them.
As her alliance with Nathaniel grows stronger, Elisabeth starts to question everything she’s been taught—about sorcerers, about the libraries she loves, even about herself. For Elisabeth has a power she has never guessed, and a future she could never have imagined.
Sorcery Of Thorns Review
I seriously love everything about this book. The cover alone is enough to bewitch me and the story plot really get me hooked. This time it takes me on a splendid and miraculous journey of saving the libraries and the grimoires with Elisabeth. I have to take my imagination on another level to visualize every action in the pages. The world-building is indeed magnificent.
Elisabeth has grown up believing that all sorcerer is evil. She had dozens of misunderstanding against Nathaniel Thorns on their early acquaintanceship whilst Nathaniel, on the other hand, is a witty person hiding behind agony mask. Silas is his demonic servant, a demon yet so caring and affectionate. I love how they start bonding with each other and getting closer upon investigating the crime happens throughout the libraries. I find that its overwhelm that they always keeping each other at arm’s length; they never leave each other. I love how the author sprinkled some romance between Elisabeth and Nathaniel and they are just perfect together. It’s not a whole big plot of lovey-dovey but enough to pink up your cheek!
This book won my heart. Action, sense of humour, magic, a modicum of romance; this book is perfect! If you love Fantastic Beast and Harry Potter, you gotta read this masterpiece as well!
